Storm, sunlight, surrender.
In Welsh, hwyl means both goodbye and the wind filling a ship's sails.
This animated original holds both:
a storm breaking open into light, a heart catching a different current.

The Creative Process
Creating a custom animated original unfolds in three intentional phases:
1. Discovery
We start with a conversation: the feeling you want the piece to hold, the story it echoes, the space it's destined for.
2. Creation
I hand-paint your original in my studio. My inks move on their own terms, so this stage can't be rushed or undone. That's part of why each piece is genuinely singular. For Portal and Brand commissions, the painting is then translated into motion: ink dissolving into light, texture blooming into rhythm.
3. Delivery
Your original arrives, alongside any motion files for Portal commissions. Brand commissions receive motion files in all agreed formats with the licence confirmed in writing. If you're bringing the work into a space - projection, installation, brand application - I'm available to support that integration.

Begin Your Visualisations
If you feel called to explore a commission, share a little about your vision: your palette, your space, your timeline, and the emotional resonance you're inviting in.
From there, we follow it together, until it becomes a painting,
and, if you wish, a world.
The Fine Print
As is usual practice, I retain copyright in every painting and motion work I create.
This is standard for artists, and it means I can continue to exhibit and document the work.
When you commission an Original or a Portal, you own the physical painting outright and hold a perpetual licence to display its motion piece (if any) in your space.
When you commission for a brand, we agree together on how long you'll use the work, where, and on which channels. Exclusivity and full buyout are available if you'd like the work to be yours alone.
Seasonal or campaign variations of a commissioned work are quoted as a variant: the painting and its look are already developed, so these sit below a new commission.
I always retain the right to show commissioned work in my portfolio and exhibitions.
If a project needs confidentiality, tell me early and we'll build that in.
