In my practice,
the Painting
is only the Beginning…

Each Animated Original begins as a hand-painted ink work,
created in my Los Angeles studio.

From there, the piece becomes a cinematic motion world:
dissolving, expanding, and re-forming through light and movement.

These artworks are meant to be felt:
Atmospheric, meditative and quietly transformative.

Using a blend of editorial instinct (honed across years in children’s animation),
painterly motion design, and sensory storytelling, I translate the original artwork into a moving environment.

  • Light takes on intention.

The result is a living artwork: a loop, a projection, a digital ether, tailored to evoke a mood, an inner space, or a moment of clarity.

Hwyl (2025)

Storm, sunlight, surrender.

On a wild Welsh coast, six-foot waves crashed hard into the shore:
chaotic, untamed, alive.
And then, suddenly, the sun tore through the storm.

Hwyl holds that threshold moment: the wildness and the release…
The ache of farewell and the quiet propulsion toward something new.

In Welsh, hwyl means both goodbye and the wind filling a ship’s sails.
This animated original carries both meanings: a storm breaking open into light…
A heart catching a different current.

The Creative Process

Creating a custom animated original unfolds in five intentional phases:

1. Discovery & Visioning

We begin with a conversation: exploring the feeling you want the piece to hold, the story it will echo, and the space it’s destined for.

2. Painting Creation

I create your hand-painted original in my Los Feliz studio. You’ll receive palette previews, progress stills, and optional behind-the-scenes moments.

3. Motion Translation

Here, the painting becomes a world.

With cinematic motion and atmospheric design, the artwork evolves into movement: ink dissolving into light, texture blooming into rhythm.

4. Delivery

You receive both the physical painting and digital motion files, prepared for your chosen format (display, projection, web, installation, etc).

5. Optional Activation

Need support with projection, installation, or brand application? Custom integration is available for all commissioned works.
